Fall Fishing
After another gloomy week of weather, it looks like we will have a nice fall weekend. I have plenty of open dates for charters and will post upcoming open boat trips. Striped Bass and Blackfish for October and November. Go fishing now, before it starts snowing.

Sunday
Today we fished in the ocean for a mixed bag of porgies, sea bass, blackfish fluke and stripers. The fishing was great. We will be fishing for striped bass and blackfish for the rest of the season and we are available every day.

Rough Weather
WE headed out to the ocean on Saturday to fish the rocks for porgies, sea bass and fluke. The NE winds made the drift fast and bumpy. We found a few fish every where we went but the weather put the bite off and made fishing difficult. In the afternoon there was a showing of fluke dispite the rough seas and sea robins, and we caught some shorts and keepers up to 4 1/2lbs. Evelyn had the big fish of the day, a 13lb. striped bass on a porgie hook.

Fall Fishing
It looks like we will finally get out this weekend. With the change in the weather I expect to see a change in the fishing also. Stay tuned, I will post what we find out there.

Sunday
We finally got out fishing again after a week of wind and rain. I intended to head out to the ocean to fish rocks and reefs but a stiff east wind and big swells kept us in the bay. I tried a variety of spots but the water was discolored from the fresh water run-off and looked like mud. After getting no bites all morning the crew threw in the towel at noon time and we went home early with nothing to show for our efforts. When the ocean settles (maybe the end of this week) I would like to make a trip out to the rocks. Call if you would like to come along.

Enough Rain
I am still hoping to take advantage of the extended fluke season this year. If the weather ever gets nice I would like to try some rocks and wrecks for fluke and sea bass. Also the first striped bass show up around this time of year but with all this rain the water still hasn't had a chance to clear from the hurricane. We will just keep trying. It looks like Sunday will be the next day out (the park is closed Saturday for the 9/11 memorial) and will try next week weather permitting.

Holiday Weekend
A lot of fishing and not much catching. Just as predicted, the storm ruined our fluke bite. Monday was an improvement with about fifty shorts landed, most of them caught on inside spots. If the water ever clears up [ it looks like coffee with cream] the fishing should get better. Rebecca K was the star of the weekend with a 4 and 5 1/2lber.
