Fishing Report

We headed out on Friday in search of striped bass. There was a fleet of ten boats fishing outside of the inlet and we headed down the bay to get away from the crowd. Don started off the new year landing the first fish of the season, a big fat blackfish , full of eggs, that was quickly released to do her thing. Charlie landed the first striped bass and that twenty one pounder held on to win the pool, despite the vicious assault from Anthony "The Barker" and Ken "The Legend" as they landed multiple keepers in the 15 to 18lb. class. Everyone had their chances with the big bass and some did better then others. The rain held off until the ride home on what turned out to be a pretty nice day. While we had a lull in the action during the slack tide, the "Barker" flipped out a jig and landed the first fluke of 2016 and we will start to look for them soon.
