NE Winds
It is unusual to have a week of easterly weather along the Jersey shore this time of year and it is forecast to continue into next week. While creating rough seas, the easterly fetch also brings in warmer offshore water and the fishing has been improving. Monday we fished way to the south in rough seas for blues and had a good day with small blues, big thimble eye mackerel and also released four black tip sharks. Wednesday found us offshore bottom fishing and we had some jumbo sea bass, ling, fluke, winter flounder, mackerel and gray triggerfish. Cool stuff. Don't forget Sunday 8/6 fluke and sea bass, last time fluking saw a bunch of limits around the boat and a boat limit of sea bass.
