The Weekend
The novice anglers aboard on Saturday had good action in protected waters with some keeper fluke and loads of birds. Thanks to Mike L. for helping out. Sunday I tried a spot in the deep of the channel and when I looked out upon the ocean, all I could see was waves braking over Romer Shoal. I called my old friend Capt George on the Angler and he told me the sea conditions were fine and suggested I try a spot a little further out. It took a while but when the tide changed, we started to see some fluke amongst all the sea robins. At times we drifted over two knots and still had action. We landed the most fluke in three weeks but I think the end is near as a change in weather is coming Tuesday.
