Windy Weekend

Saturday Evelyn and I hosted Ben and his friends and family visiting from London. What a great group of guys. We had to stay in the bay with the 20 to 25 knot SE wind but the guys caught a bunch of short fluke and topped off the catch with a five pound fluke, some keeper porgies and monster sea robins. When we returned to the marina, it seemed that everyone with a Sea Ray or sailboat was out to take advantage of the 80 degree forecast(it never did get that warm). Watching them trying to handle their boats in the stiff breeze was quite interesting. Sunday started off with wind again but from the opposite direction. The plan was to try for striped bass but the bluefish made fast work of our limited supply of eels. A try for fluke only produced a few tiny fish and no way near the amount of life as the previous day. The cool temperatures should only help as we seem to be stuck between Summer and Fall.
