The deepwater run of big fluke continues. Many fish between 5 and 7lbs. feeding on huge schools of bait in the deep water. Roger was the angler of the day, topping off his limit catch with a 10lb. doormat. Sailing open boat by reservation Friday 7/29 and Saturday 7/30. Call 201 650 9768 for details.

Today we worked over the 50 foot depths for big fluke. Tommy O. lead the way with our biggest fluke of the season at 9 1/4 lbs. Ken the Legend had an 8 lber. Other fish were in the 5 to 6 lb. class. Now is the time. Plenty of days available for charters.

Lots of fun this weekend. Saturday Paradise Pete, Frankie, PopPop Jerry, Sean, John (aka The Roaster)and Ryan caught a load of fluke. I enjoyed watching the boys in action. Special thanks to Dan for his patience. Sunday saw plenty of fluke of all sizes. The only ones missing were the big (over five pounds) fish we like to catch. A nice mess of keepers and everyone went home with fillets. Felix had the pool fish again at 22 1/2 inches.

The weather for the next week looks perfect for fishing. We will be coming off the full moon cycle, and I expect to see a new body of fluke moving into the bay. This is traditionally when we catch some of the largest fish of the season. Call your friends and put a trip together, or call me if you don't have enough for a charter and I can try to fill up the trip. 7AM to 2 :30PM Fluke charter $600. Sailing open boat by reservation every Wednesday during fluke season $80 per person.

The NW wind allowed us only six drifts in the channel. Plenty of fish in the shallow spots but not the kind we were looking for. Emil J. was the top fisherman with a 4 and 4 1/2lber. If anyone is interested I will try for big fish in the 50 to 60 foot depths on Friday 7/14. Give me a call if you would like to go. 201 650 9768.

It was a hot and hazy day on the water. The fishing started off picky, so I tried some different spots. There was fluke in all of them, some better than others, but none of the big fish we were looking for. Tommy O. caught the biggest, a 4lber. Sailing open boat by reservation every Wednesday during fluke season. Fare $80. Call 201 650 9768 to save a spot.

Sunday was a rainy day on the bay. We managed to fish in the deep all day in a variety of conditions [ wind, rain, current...] and picked at fluke all day until the wind picked up and we went home. Evelyn's 4 1/2lber. beat out a bunch of 4's for the pool. Monday the weatherman promised a nice day but it was foggy and overcast all morning. Fishing was picky until the tide got right. Randy had a 5 and 5 1/2, Felix 4 1/2 and 5, Skip's best was 6 and Evelyn won the pool again with a 6 1/2lber.
