Holiday Weekend

SAT.  Skip and the guys from work were out today for some bass fishing. The first spot had some life but it was the end of the tide and we did't have enough time to get them started. Patience paid off in the next spot as we boated 13 fish between 10 and 11AM. Only 3 were keepers. Tommy had the biggest at 16lbs.              SUN. Right back to the first spot and 4 keepers up to Ken Havens 20lber. After an hour of striper fishing it was on to the fluke grounds for a slow pick. It seemed like the more the south wind blew the less the fluke bit.    MON.  We left the dock after the storms passed and went to the bass grounds. I didn't think the bass would bite after all the lightning but lil' Frank caught his first keeper. The wind shifted to NW for the first time in three weeks, so I tried some outside spots for fluke. Fishing was great all day long, with many 17 to 19 inch fluke. Peter G., Antoinette, Roger, Ken, Evelyn and myself were hauling fluke all day, but Frank was the top fisherman with a 4lb and a 6lb fluke. Evelyn also had a 4lber that provided two dinners for us. I can't wait to get back out there, the fluke bite is on!
