Opening Day Fluke

We had  an intrepid group of fluke seekers onboard, looking for the first flatties of the year. We tried many places and found only shorts until late in the morning when Russ landed a twenty incher, our first keeper of the season. In the afternoon we headed back to the bass grounds and gave everyone an opportunity to battle with big fish. Once again, some did better then others, with Mark S. leading the way with a twenty three pound striped bass. Tommy O. has proven himself to be one of the top striped bass anglers we have, landing three in a short time, despite multiple equipment failures (Shitmano reel). Fluke fishing will only get better and I was happy to see some in all the usual spots.
