Good Fishing Offshore

The weather was good this week and we fished on the offshore reef and wrecks. Thursday's trip saw very big (14 to 18 inch) porgies, mixed sized sea bass, four nice cod to 9lbs., four winter flounder to 19 1/2 inches and many bluefish encounters with fish up to 18lbs. Now is the time to get out there before the winter wind blows. Friday's charter wanted striped bass, so I stayed on the land and worked the local Pine Barrens creeks and bogs. Seven pickerel were raised on a top water plug and I landed the biggest one I ever saw at twenty-five inches.
